Happy Buddha Purnima

Buddha Purnima is also known as Buddha Jayanti and Vesak. Vesak is a Buddhist Festival honors Lord Gautam Buddha’s birth and enlightenment (Prakash) and death.

Buddha Jayanti is observed every year on the Purnima or full moon day of the Buddhist and Hindu calendar Vaishakh month.

Buddha Purnima is a popular holiday in India today. Despite this, it was not until the mid-20th century that the festival became an official Buddhist holiday.

Gautam Buddha was born as Siddhartha Gautam in Lumbini (now in present-day Nepal) and raised in Kapilvastu, a town in the area of the present frontier between Nepal and India around 563 B.C. Gautam Buddha was a founder of the Buddhism.
