World Asthma Day is celebrated annually on the 1st Tuesday of May. Asthma is a long-term chronic lung disorder.
The Global Initiative for Asthma started World Asthma Day in 1998 as a way of raising awareness about the disease and strengthening its treatment.
May Month is celebrated as National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month Since 1984, declared by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).
